Welcome to OAK & ELK, a leather goods business that specializes in creating high-quality leather bags. Our brand was founded by married couple, Ana and Javier.

Driven by her passion for music, Ana attended high school at Interlochen Arts Academy, located in the breathtaking natural surroundings of Michigan. It was here that she discovered her deep appreciation for the natural world that surrounds her. Fast forward, to when Ana and Javier decided to establish a brand, they took inspiration from the beautiful oak trees and elks found in Michigan, and they loved the way the two words sounded together. Thus, the name OAK & ELK was born.

Ana and Javier come from a family with experience in the leather industry, and this motivated them to start a business selling leather goods. Ana has a preference for elegant and minimalist designs that stand the test of time. She was unable to find the leather bag that fit her criteria, prompting them to embark on a journey to create their leather bag business.

Starting a business is always a challenging task, especially if you're someone who pays attention to details. That's why we chose to work with the best suppliers and craftsmen based in Mexico.

OAK & ELK is a company that is passionate about leather goods and committed to sustainable and ethical practices. We source our hides from the U.S. meat industry to prevent waste and contribute to a cleaner environment by reducing the amount of leather waste in landfills. To ensure that our practices are environmentally friendly, we use tanning facilities that have been recognized as Gold Rated by the Leather Working Group for their leadership in promoting eco-friendliness in the industry.
